Maharaja Kala Jamun

Dense dumpling — fried slow and dark till the outside is nearly black and deeply caramelised, then soaked in cardamom sugar syrup till heavy and saturated all the way through. Darker than a gulab jamun. Richer than you expect. Bigger than one person should probably eat alone.
